It is altogether a different joy in collecting gifts, toys and so much more and then visiting the special people and celebrating Christmas – the festival of love, gift giving and super fun! This Christmas (Dec 25, 2013), we visited the “Shri ChhatrapatiPratishthan Nivasi Matimand Vidyalaya, Pune”, school-cum-hostel for the special children.
Seeing the love and affection in their eyes, for we, visitors, truly overwhelmed us. Not only very soon did they mingle with us, but also, the smallest of the kids, wanted each one of us to play with her all time, and did not want us to leave :’) We experienced the real joy of giving by playing and dancing with them, and having lots of fun. We also updated them with what Christmas is and how fun-filled the festival is!
To add more to the moments, we then distributed gifts to the children and witnessed the best ever smiles on the little faces! :) And post meal, we enjoyed the dance performances by Saylee N Agavane. “When we lose one blessing, another is often most unexpectedly given in its place.” ― C.S. Lewis. Yes, despite being mentally challenged, Saylee has made it her life's mission to uplift mentally challenged children. Her performance stunned us! And yes, tears of joy rolled too! :’)
Overall, something that I have added to my basket of best memories, and the wonderful experience of becoming a SANTA for the kids and enjoying Christmas to the best! :)
